The new iPad looks very similar to the iPad 2, how can one physically identify a new 3rd generation iPad?
You may have heard that the IPad 2 and the iPad 3 are verify similar, but aside from the screen clarity how can you tell physically tell an iPad 4G from a IPad 2 3G by looking at it?
The new iPad has a better camera, but that doesn't help you tell the difference between a 4G Verizon iPad from a 4G AT&T IPad or from a 3G IPad 2.
If I had a 4G IPad in the box, how can I tell whether it is for Verizon, AT&T or other carrier?
Is there a physical marking on the box that identify the carrier?
Is there a physical marking on the iPad itself?
The box that my iPad 2 came in has a paper sticker on the bottom of the box which prominently displays the characteristics of my iPad. The info shown is: WiFi, 3G, 64GB, Black, and Verizon. Thus I must assume the new iPad3 box will contain the same info on the sticker on the box: WiFi, cellular capability, memory, color, and cellular carrier. You shouldn't need to open the box to check these details although I would just to be sure the serial number etched in tiny letters on the back of the iPad match the serial number on the paper sticker on the box.
Here are the various iPad model numbers and order numbers. The model numbers are on the back of the iPad.
