Long Island based Cablevision‘s free iPad app, which lets subscribers watch live TV channels and VOD over the tablet device, has been downloaded over 50,000 times since its April 2nd release.
The cable company expressed contentment at the apps early performance and popularity, but YES Network, the regional sports network of the New York Yankees and New Jersey Nets, objected to the use of their content on the app by stating that Cablevision does not have the right to offer their content in this way under their current contract.
This response is similar to the response that Time Warner has received about its own iPad app which currently is being reviewed by a Judge.

I personally believe that DISH Network has the best solution for TV everywhere. With my employee Sling adapter from DISH, I can stream live and recorded TV to my android devices everywhere I have 3G coverage or WiFi. So unlike Cablevision, I can watch live TV pretty much anywhere. If you are ready to find the provider that is right for you, check out www.besttvforme.com. If you are going to pay extra for a really cool feature, you might as well get the best.
